Bed Frames

Bed Frames

Whether you're furnishing a spare room or upgrading your own bedroom, our bed frames come in every Australian standard size, from single through to king. Choose from metal, timber, fabric, upholstered, bouclé and PU leather finishes. You'll find platform bases, gas lift storage frames, frames with built-in drawers and LED models with charging stations, at prices well under what traditional retailers charge.

Dispatch is 1 to 2 business days, every frame carries a 12-month warranty, and our team is here seven days a week if you need a hand.

What support to look for in a bed frame

On a queen or king frame, a sturdy centre support beam with its own floor-standing leg is essential. Without one, the slat system slowly bows under body weight and the mattress develops a dip through the middle. Check the product listing for a centre rail on anything queen-sized or larger, and check how many legs it has. The spaces between the slats also matter. Wider gaps let a foam mattress sag between the slats, and most mattress warranties are void if the base doesn't support them properly.

How each bed frame material changes the look

Metal frames are a practical pick. They're light, easy to move, quick to assemble, and they suit a rental or a room you expect to reconfigure. Timber frames feel more solid and can add warmth to your bedroom. Plus, they hide marks better over years of use. Fabric and upholstered frames add extra comfort and soften a room, which can be great for a bedroom with hard floors. They’ll need occasional vacuuming to stay fresh. PU leather wipes clean in seconds, which can be handy in a kids' room. If you're creating a matching bedroom, a bouclé bed frame pairs naturally with our other bouclé furniture.

The benefits of storage bed frames

If your bedroom has no room for a chest of drawers, a bed frame can double as added storage. A gas lift base gives you extra space underneath, perfect for bulky items like spare quilts. Store bed frames or drawer frames are another option, giving you quick and easy access for everyday essentials like shoes or extra clothing.

Finding the right frame height and headboard

The frame height changes more than the look. A low frame can suit a bigger room or young kids, while a taller frame can be easier on the knees and hips, making it simpler to get in and out of bed. When finding the right frame, remember total height is frame plus mattress, so a higher mattress on a tall base can end up higher than you expect.

If the frame you like has no headboard, our bed headboards range covers upholstered and timber options sized to standard frames.

Measuring and matching your mattress

Bed frame sizes can vary depending on the headboard, footboard and the thickness of the side rails. Before you buy, measure your room, then allow at least 60cm of walking space down any side you need to use. Then match the size properly to a mattress. Our queen bed frames, king bed frames and single bed frames pages narrow the range if you already know the size you need.

Bed Frame FAQ

What style of bed frame suits my room?

Look at the finishes and materials already in the room. Bedrooms with hard floors may suit fabric and upholstered frames, which absorb sound. Meanwhile timber frames can add warmth to a space. If you’re needing extra storage, consider a bedframe with added storage.

How do I make sure my mattress fits the frame?

Match the Australian size name exactly, then check the frame's internal dimensions on the listing rather than the external footprint. Also check the slat spacing: gaps over about 7cm won't properly support a foam mattress.

Which frames have storage, and how much?

Gas lift frames lift the whole platform for one large cavity, great for bulky items like quilts and suitcases. Drawer frames give two to four smaller compartments that are faster to access. Both need clearance to open, so measure the space around the bed first.

Do bed frames arrive flat packed, and what's involved?

Yes, flat packed, with the tools and instructions in the box. Most frames take 45 to 90 minutes with two people, mainly attaching the side rails, fitting the centre support and laying the slats. If you'd rather not, our Airtasker partnership makes it easy to find someone local to assemble it.

What are dispatch times and warranty if a frame arrives damaged?

Orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days from our Australian warehouse. Every frame comes with a 12-month warranty. If something arrives damaged, contact support with your order number and photos and we'll sort a replacement part or a replacement frame.
